South Lodge Hotel

Our Champagne Hot Tub getaway at South Lodge was absolutely fabulous. We enjoyed every minute and the extras were just perfect! The hotel is stunning, the staff cannot do enough for you and the food is simply amazing, The Pass restaurant exceeded all of our expectations and we cannot wait to return. We have just got home from an unforgettable stay at South Lodge Hotel. Upon checking in we were given a guided your of the hotel before being shown to our room, the Godman Suite. The room has a lovely big bed, huge bath room with massive walk in shower with powerful shower jets. The bathroom has double doors that open out to a large balcony that has a four sweater hot tub!!!!!!!!. We had a lovely lunch sat in the garden enjoying the sun. The hot tub was lovely and warm and we enjoyed a bottle of champagne whilst relaxing and looking out over the gardens. We had dinner in the Camellia restaurant, it was small and intimate and the food was cooked to perfection. I had the sirloin steak and my wife had the lamb. For pudding I had the caramel sponge and my wife had the white chocolate mousse, both of which were delicious. In the bar we had the 'Apple Glade', which had to be one of the nicest cocktails I've ever had. When we got back to our room after dinner and drinks a large bouquet of flowers was waiting for us in the room with a card congratulating us on our marriage. Thank you South Lodge! We had our breakfast delivered to our room and it was a banquet fit for a king!!!

The hotel was mind blowing the service outstanding and the food was absolutely mouth watering. The hotel grounds were stunning and the package price was worth every penny in my opinion, though drinks in the bar were a bit steep. All in all our stay was really fantastic .

All in all the weekend was fantastic and my partner and I were very happy. It was definitely what I was looking for when booking a romantic break, though I would have preferred a sofa to two armchairs! I was particularly happy with the meal at the Pass restaurant. The service was excellent and this added to the whole dining experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at South Lodge. It was a beautiful building and the garden was gorgeous. But I think what stood out most was the service and the staff at South Lodge. The concierge took us to our room not just explaining the facilities/rooms but the history of the building and when asked about specific questions, whether it was the furniture/paintings etc, he knew the answer to everything. Also the staff at The Pass were excellent. The Italian waiter was obviously very passionate about his job and the chef personally came to our table to ask how we thought of the food and was very friendly. The food was creative and unique and although we knew it was a Michelin starred restaurant, we did not expect such high quality and imagination in the cooking outside of London. Also, I was impressed by the quick and friendly service provided by yourselves in making this stay happen, many thanks!

Our stay at South Lodge in the Godman hot tub suite was an amazing experience and the whole day just flowed and exceeded my expectations. The lodge is lovely and the grounds beautiful and this was enhanced by the professionalism of their staff. I did not have to worry about anything as it was all in hand.
