Know It All
Hit the Spot
In smartest metro South Ken.
Come here for...
? Urban townhouse style with a country house twist. ? A designer pad that's warm and inviting. ? Kensington's myriad antique shops and art dealers. ? London's top museums.
There's a smart basement bistro, a gym for working out and a library lounge with an honesty bar.
Good to know
It's a great location, though not in the quietest spot.
51 rooms and suites
All rooms have aircon, Frette bedlinen, DVD and CD players, wi-fi internet, a safe and minibar. You'll also find a two-line telephone with voicemail, and a brolly for London's famously unpredictable weather. Bathrooms come with fluffy Terry robes and slippers, and Penhaligon toiletries.
Ground floor bedrooms boast beautiful balconies, while top floor rooms have rooftop views. Size isn't all at The Pelham, since even the smaller rooms are chic and well appointed.
We loved the Luxury and Deluxe doubles – all elegance and English charm – while for something grander, you can opt for one of the two stunning Feature Deluxe rooms. Both boast floor to ceiling windows overlooking South Kensington, while one has a four poster bed, fireplace and black marble bathroom. For the ultimate splash-out, the King suite offers 1,000 sq ft of shameless luxury.
Eat & Drink
The Pelham's smart Bistro Fifteen serves contemporary cuisine with an Italian twist in a fresh and informal atmosphere, candlelit by night. Pre- and post-theatre suppers are served, so it's the perfect place for eats if you are heading for a show in the Royal Albert Hall or West End. Afternoon teas are a big hit here (the freshly basked scones are decidedly more-ish) and Bar 15 serves a variety of cocktails.
Late risers will be happy here – breakfast is served until 11am Monday-Saturday and till midday on Sundays. Opt for a Continental or a range of cooked options – you can always work off your full English in the gym later.
Available 24 hours.
See & Do
London's top museums – the V&A, Natural History and Science museums – are just minutes away. So too are Harrods, Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall. South Kensington is also awash with cafes, galleries and bars.
There's an in-house fitness rooms equipped with weights, cardiovascular equipment, towels and iced water. Personal training sessions can be arranged and there are great runs in nearby Hyde Park. Pelham guests also receive discounted entry for the nearby LA Fitness and Fitness First clubs.
