Rothay Garden

I have stayed at a number of hotel in the Lakes, and Rothay is up there with the best. We had a riverside room looking out on trees and fells, although it was a bit too chilly to sit out on the balcony. Loved the big power shower and the infra red loungers in the spa – great after a walk around Grasmere and up to Easedale tarn. Food is definitely one of the hotel's strong points. I tried the lakeland venison and my wife had the salmon, both of which were excellent. They also have a good wine list, and not at ridiculous prices. We hope to return!
