Amenities
There's valet parking (and No, you don't need to drive a Lamborghini), hosts to deliver room service or help arrange outings and activities, a Reading room stocked with complimentary soft drinks, beer, wine and nibbles, and Berghaus outdoor gear to borrow if you've forgotten to pack the cagoules. Two restaurants and a Spa with pool and treatments rooms are available for guests' use at the nearby Langdale Hotel. You can also hire a Twizy eco-friendly electric car for just GBP 10 per hour.

Early booking is essential at weekends, when there is a 2 night minimum stay.

Special features
All rooms have a large freestanding bathtub for two, separate wet room shower, superking bed, large Smart TVs and sound system, fully stocked minibar, wi-fi and luxury Elemis lotions and potions. They also have a terrace, and suites have their own in-wall wood burning stoves. Fireside suites have fabulous silvered, mirrored bathtubs for two while Duet suites have two side-by-side baths.

Pillow Talk
We especially loved Room 9, a Spa suite with dual aspect terrace, huge egg-shaped whirlpool bath, double shower and in-wall log burning stove open to both bathroom and lounge. Room 8 is a beautiful Fireside suite with a wraparound terrace, while adjacent Room 7 is a gorgeous Plush room.

Eat & Drink

Dining In
There's a choice of restaurants on the Langdale estate. Try two AA Rosette Purdey's for mains such as roast rump of lamb, fillet of beef or curried monkfish, and yummy desserts such as crispy coconut rice pudding. The informal Terrace Restaurant and bar offers a range of dishes cooked in a Spanish style charcoal fired oven. For drinks, there's Wainwright's Inn and Hobson's Bar.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served until 10am – in your suite if you prefer. Choices include pancakes with maple syrup, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and a full English.

See & Do
You're surrounded by some of Britain's finest walking country here – the Lake District's fabulous fells await. For a real outdoor adventure (both within a 20 minute drive), try GoApe! – a Grizedale treetop experience that lets you fly above the treetops on a zipwire. For an off-road buzz, Kankku puts you in the driving seat of a rugged 4x4 to explore the surrounds.

Other nearby attractions include Levens Hall, with its wonderful Elizabethan gardens, Lake Windermere cruises and the Lakes Aquarium, home to otters, sharks and lots more.

Spa
Guests get complimentary use of the Spa at the adjacent Langdale Hotel, which has a 20m swimming pool, gym, hot tub, steam room, sauna, exercise studio and tennis court. A range of treatments ranging from tanning, massage and facials to manicures can also be booked.
