Special features
All rooms at the Hare and Hounds come with a welcome tray of hot drinks and biscuits. Big bathrooms are generously stocked with Molton Brown bath products and the best also have  bathrobes. Many have views over the attractive gardens and woodland.

Pillow Talk
Many of the rustic-chic rooms in the main manor look out over the pretty lawns. King bedded Room 20 (a Superior) is a favourite, with its pretty garden views. Classic doubles come with kingsize beds, garden views and vibrant decor, while those in adjacent Silkwood Court (one with its own patio) are larger and done out in restful creamy shades.

Splashing out? You'll love The Gamekeeper's Cottage – a stone cottage retreat in the grounds – will tick all the boxes with a lounge whose French doors lead to the garden with its own outdoor hot tub. Plush features include a wet room shower and mirror TV, contemporary four poster bed, blu-ray player, iPod dock, Nespresso machine and Veuve Cliquot wellies for long walks.

Eat & Drink

Dining in:
With its grand wrought iron chandeliers and bay windows overlooking the lawn, the Hare and Hounds’ Beaufort restaurant is a winner. Enjoy a twist of light and intriguing flavours beside polo print lined walls and allow the chef, whose philosophy is ‘fresh served at its best’, to conjure a mix of both modern and classic English-continental dishes.

Jack Hare’s bar serves as a lively country pub, with a friendly vibe and welcoming log fires in the winter. There’s a great range of local ales, and hearty bar meal options, including battered cod and chips and home made salmon and haddock fishcakes.

Served until 9.30 (Mon-Fri) and 10.00 (Sat-Sun). Full English breakfast comes with the morning newspapers.

Room service:
Food and drink may be bought and taken to your room at anytime, and Jack Hare’s Bar will supply you with provisions until 21:30.

See & Do
You’re right on the doorstep of the illustrious Beaufort Polo Club – where the royal princes can often be spotted – and Highgrove House, home of HRH the Prince of Wales. Garden tours can be arranged at Highgrove (though you’ll need to apply for tickets well ahead), and products inspired by the gardens are sold in the Highgrove Shop in nearby Tetbury.

Westonbirt Arboretum is also a must see as its beautiful trees and shrubs are ablaze with rhododendrons in late spring and with russet maple trees in autumn.

Other nearby attractions include Blenheim Palace, Snowshill Manor, Sudeley Castle and Painswick Rococo Gardens. Pretty villages nearby include Bibury, Broadway, Bourton on the Water and The Slaughters.

Beauty at The Hare
Opened in November 2012, you'll find a full range of face and body treatments for men and women, with the well known product brands of Decleor, Guinot, St.Tropez and Jessica nails at the professionally equipped treatment room.
