SCENIC VIEWS, LUXURY COUNTRY HOUSE accommodation and bedrooms complete with jacuzzi baths and outdoor hot tubs await at Dannah Farm, in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales.
Enjoy a rural retreat in the rolling Dales at this classic 18th century luxury farmhouse. Joan and Martin are the hosts of award-winning Dannah Farm, set on a 150 acre working farm on the Chatsworth Estates at Shottle.
Contemporary furnishings are mixed with antique features and quirky decorative flourishes to create a blend of old style elegance and luxury. Each bedroom has its own special style – from bright and bold to chi-chi and traditional.
Two rooms – The Granary and the Studio Hideaway – have their own private outdoor hot tubs perfect for blissing out on starlit nights with that essential glass of champagne!
Guests can also rent Dannah Farm’s Spa Leisure Cabin for the day and soak in its huge, Canadian style outdoor hot tub complete with double steam shower, Finnish sauna and a lounge kitted out with sofas, books, iPod dock, films and games.
Each of the eight bedrooms is stocked with Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries, and your hosts will be happy to arrange flowers and/or champagne to welcome you for that extra special occasion.
Bath time bliss
With its own entrance, the cottage style Studio Hideaway is the most sought-after room. A spiral staircase leads upstairs from the sitting room to a cosy beamed bedroom, while the terrace below has its own private outdoor hot tub.
You could also opt for the split-level Granary Suite, whose luxurious lounge opens onto a private deck complete with Canadian style private hot tub. There's also a six foot bed and wet room style bathroom with double spa bath, indoors.
The Ecclesbourne Suite's big draws are a six-foot super kingsize bed, wet room shower with body jets, double spa bath and private sauna. You can also sink into a sumptuous carved, six foot four poster bed in the Garden Room, with its double spa bath and artfully disguised bathroom TV.
Another winner is the distinctive Red Room, with its chunky beamed ceiling, rouge-inspired decor, huge sofa and six foot bed, hand-crafted from timbers from the Old Lace Market in Nottingham. The bathroom gas a double-ended rolltop bath and walk-in power shower with body jets.
Animal loving guests can watch horses grazing in the fields, wander through Dannah Farm's walled gardens, see the Koi carp pond and meet the farm's two rare breed pigs plus resident English setters Cracker, Jack and Chase.
Make room for a traditional hearty farmhouse breakfast in the morning: the full Derbyshire feast will set you up for the day with locally sourced eggs, sausages, bacon, black pudding and home made bread. Dannah Farm is part of the Peak Cuisine scheme that promotes use of local produce.
There's no restaurant here but you'll find plenty of cosy country pubs within striking distance. Can't be bothered to drive? No worries – your hosts will be pleased to rustle up a tasty platter of cold meats, cheeses, fish and salads and, of course, a chilled bottle of vino.
