• Seduction-on-sea in downtown Brighton. • Seven-foot beds and sexy windowside bathtubs. • Great dining. • Grown-up glamour favoured by a number of showbiz names.
There's a ground floor lobby bar where they'll mix you any kind of cocktail, and the excellent Restaurant at Drakes – one of Brighton's top dining spots.
Good to know
It's a tall townhouse with plenty of stairs. There is some limited off-street parking.
20 rooms and suites
Rooms are smart and sophisticated (the best have seven-foot beds), with a palette of red and white and plenty of blond wood. Vi-sprung mattresses with Egyptian cotton bedding and velvet throws, flat screen TVs with masses of channels (including Playboy) and DVD players, plus individual air con, White Company toiletries, waffle robes, slippers (to keep), wi-fi, tea/coffee tray. Around half the rooms have free standing bathtubs.
Splash out on one of the signature sea-facing King rooms; a big bed, huge Georgian bay windows and roll-top bath for frolics and fun with views of the pier.
Eat & Drink
The Restaurant at Drakes offers modern European dining in sleek surrounds, with a keen focus on local and seasonal produce. The menu changes regularly but you can expect to sample dishes such as assiette of suckling pig with celeraic puree, langoustine risotto with wild asparagus, and lavender pannacotta with blueberries.
Breakfast (charged extra) is served until 10am. Choices include soft boiled eggs with Marmite soldiers or Scotch porridge with an optional shot of Drambuie. You can also start the day with some Buck's Fizz or champers.
Available morning and evening.
