Know It All
Hit the Spot
Near Santa Maria della Salute church, in the classy Dorsoduro district.
Come here for...
• Sexy and seductive bedrooms made for a lovefest. • A brilliant canal-side location that's tranquil, too. • The decadent Moorish terrace piled with giant cushions and rugs. • A landing stage right at the door.
There's a library lounge, and a Moroccan style rooftop terrace. The front desk team will be happy to arrange private tours and transfers.
Good to know
Not one for minimalists – this is Venice at its decadent best.
12 rooms and suites
All rooms are king-bedded and come with plasma TV/VD players and wi-f, bathrobes and designer toiletries. Concept rooms – all individually and extravagantly designed – are a visual treat, while the Deluxe rooms are inviting and plush.
Bliss out in one of the exotically themed Concept rooms – they're made for a lovefest. Sala Noir is rich, dark and voluptuous, while the Doge room is wrapped in floor-to-ceiling red velvet and has a jacuzzi bath. We also loved Sala Orientale – all cinnamon and gold – and the lighter Sala del Camino.
Eat & Drink
Only breakfast is served, though you can have afternoon tea on the terrace and drinks in the exotic and atmospheric Moroccan-style bar
Traditional Italian breakfast is served until 11am
Available 24 hours a day.
See & Do
You're literally steps from the church of Santa Maria della Salute, whose fabulous domes dominate the Ventian skyline. A vaporetto takes you across the lagoon to Venice's heartland (stay on board for a full-circle tour of the Grand Canal), where Piazza San Marco and its amazing basilica are steps away.
You're also well placed for arty trips to the Accademia and the Guggenheim, and the hotel can organise private guided tours of Venice to suit your interests. Head out for the islands in the lagoon if you have time, and be sure to wander around the old Jewish quarter of Giudecca.
Flotillas of colourfully decorated boats travel around the canals for the Festa del Redentore. Fireworks and a regatta add to the fun.
