Relais San Pietro in Polvano - Review
Solid country furniture, kilims and cream furnishings with modern touches work well against the stone archways, terracotta floors and heavy beamed ceilings. Make yourself at home in the calming white-walled bedrooms with their wrought iron beds, white bedspreads, oriental rugs and wooden painted furniture. On winter nights, cosy up near a log fire; on long summer days, feast on the views from the open terrace and wonderfully private pool.
Renaissance artists could not have painted a prettier scene than the rolling Tuscan hills dotted with medieval villages, olive groves and pencil-sharp cypress trees that surround the tiny hamlet of Polvano. With a ban on TVs and smoking this is a place designed to soothe the soul. It’s also tailor-made for honeymoons – before or after the wedding!
Green-gold olive oil
Relais San Pietro di Polvano makes a great base for exploring historic Tuscany. Star-gaze at night (or daydream by day) from the wide panoramic terrace – the perfect tranquil antidote to the tourist crowds of Tuscany's more well-trodden spots. Freshly baked bread and green-gold olive oil from San Pietro's own olive groves are the start of mouthwatering dinners of traditional Tuscan food, served in the former stables or on the terrace.
