Hit the Spot
Overlooking the sea on the hip isle of Panarea.
Come here for...
● Aeolian island chic personified. ● The jacuzzi pool overlooking the sea. ● A tranquil spot away from the harbour buzz.
There's a restaurant and bar, a TV room and library, a big eight-person jacuzzi on the terrace and a shuttle to and from the harbour.
Good to know
Don't expect fuss and formality.
13 rooms and suites
All rooms have a different decorative theme such as Chinese, colonial or minimalist. Two rooms have four-posters, and some have their own terrace with lovely sea views. Others have a balcony, and all have a minibar, aircon and wi-fi.
Take one of the four rooms overlooking the sea with a wide terrace if possible – one of which has stunning views of Stromboli's volcano.
Eat & Drink
Dining is an absolute pleasure in the Quartara's Broccia restaurant, where you can gaze out to sea while biting into cuttlefish ink spaghetti with sun-dried tomatoes and wild mint, and other creative Mediterranean dishes rustled up by chef Daniela Cappelli. It doesn't get much more romantic than this.
Buffet breakfast is served until 11am
Available morning and evening.
See & Do
Explore the island for starters: there are a few wonderful little beaches (though you'll probably swim straight from the rocks too) and viewpoints like the Calcara ridge, where there are spectacular views of volcanic Stromboli, the next island. Hire a boat and swim or snorkel from some of the offshore islets, or take a sunset cruise and snap the brilliant volcanic eruptions from neighbouring Stromboli.
Locals flock to celebrate the Festa di San Pietro with outdoor entertainment and pyrotechnics.
