You’ll want to enjoy the views from the village of Sant’Agnello before heading into Sorrento’s historic heart, 1km away. Other pearls of the Amalfi coast include cliffside Positano, clifftop Ravello and the isles of Capri and Ischia.
Explore the ancient ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, and – if you’re feeling fit enough – climb Mount Vesuvius, the volcano which destroyed them. Nearby Naples offers plenty of hustle-bustle and some artistic treasures.
