Hotel Millesime

A HANDSOME 17th CENTURY townhouse in the heart of the Left Bank,  Hotel Millesime mixes a slice of Saint Germain and plenty of big-city trimmings with the Mediterranean colours of Provence.

Brilliantly located on Rue Jacob, Hôtel Millésime retains all its Parisian feel while broad-brush strokes of characteristic blues, reds, golds and oranges encourage thoughts of the sunnier Med, carried through into a captivating terracotta painted courtyard with sub-tropical plantings. On balmy days or come dusk it’s just the place for early evening aperitfs. Staff are solicitous about their guests’ enjoyment, and the best of Paris is right outside.

Blues and sunshine yellows predominate in the Millesime's 22 nicely decorated rooms, making them guaranteed to cheer the greyest day. They’re soundproofed and a decent size too, and some at the rear have views over the pretty courtyard – doubly cheering when the magnolia tree is in full bloom.

Vaulted breakfast room

Breakfast (brought to your room if you prefer) is served in the vaulted breakfast room, where russet slip-covered chairs contrast smartly with whitewashed brick walls.

No apologies for banging on about the Left Bank’s charisma – it’s manifestly palpable, and the Millésime is right in the thick of things. Mooch around antique shops, galleries and trendy boutiques, pop into an église or two, or hang out in cute cafés and jazz clubs. Rue Jacob has it all – peace aplenty, the street buzz of Saint-Germain around the corner and one of the city's best tearooms.
