Wander hand-in-hand around nearby Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne – a charming riverside medieval town featuring half-timbered houses with Renaissance windows and a Romanesque church.
The surrounding countryside is perfect for walks, biking and horse rides. Adventurous guests can try their hand at rock climbing in the gorges of the Dordogne or kayaking along the Dordogne river. More tranquil pursuits include fishing, visiting local gardens and exploring the forest of the Tulle and the moors of the Plateau de Millevaches. Archery and even balloon flights can be arranged from the chateau’s grounds.
Picturesque local Dordogne villages include Curemonte, Turenne and Autoire – reckoned to be some of the prettiest in France.
