YELVERTON BROOK ECO SPA RETREAT
Luxury eco-chalets with wildlife on tap
JUST A KANGAROO HOP south from Perth, Yelverton Brook has what it takes to soothe away those big-city stresses. Set in 100 acres of bushland criss-crossed with walking trails and
buzzing with wildlife – it’s a designated conservation sanctuary – this is a place to tune into life’s simple (and indulgent) pleasures.
Yelverton Brook's eco-friendly, earth and stone-built cottages are designed with no-holds-barred relaxation in mind: each has a private six-person
outdoor spa where you can wallow in style under the stars, not to mention a four-poster or canopy bed and (in some) a wood fire for cosying up.
You can even book a pampering spa treatment or massage when you’re ready to surface. Be sure to
see the antics of the resident woylies – little kangaroo-like creatures who live in a specially protected compound – and keep an eye open for possums, wallabies and bandicoots. Your hosts will provide special goodies for you to feed the four-footed residents (they apparently love muesli) and you might even find a baby roo feeding from your hand on the lawn.
Hit the Spot
15 minutes north of Margaret River.
Bedtime
Bubble away before bedtime and count the stars from your outdoor spa.
Be Savvy
Keep an eye on your lunch – those possums love nicking bananas.
Be Smitten
Eco-indulgence in the bush.
Freshly baked bread
There’s freshly-baked bread on arrival, and you'll find a well-stocked kitchen awaiting. You can take off with a picnic hamper, whip up supper in your chalet or – if you just can't face the thought of washing up –
book Yelverton Brook's private chef for a top-notch dinner served off antique silver.
Surrounded by the ocean, the Margaret River region is the perfect place for lazy days of wine tasting and over-indulging in food – as well as sinking your toes into
pristine, white-sand beaches. You can book a whale or dolphin tour or discover some of the region’s wineries, sea cliffs, spectacular surf, karri forests and stalagmite-filled caves.
